My journey began in 1986 when I owned and managed 19 Discount Variety Stores for 13 years. During that time, I focused on developing and training my teams, and it was then that I discovered my desire to serve and contribute to others. As an employer, I went above and beyond to support people with disabilities by providing a modified workplace that supported their independence.
While others may have viewed my life as meaningful and fulfilling, I struggled with feeling like I had not achieved enough or that I was not enough. Despite encouragement from those around me, I couldn’t shake these feelings.
I was a young mother and love motherhood. I had my own grief and loss throughout this time as my first son had died 9 days after birth. I was still recovering from my own childhood trauma in my family of origin, including sexual abuse and living with a parent who had alcoholism.
It was during the turmoil of my 19-year relationship with the father of my children that I began to work on myself. I often felt like I was playing a role, and not showing up as my authentic self. Recognizing that my needs were not being met, I made the difficult decision to leave the relationship.
Through my own personal growth journey, I have developed a deep understanding of the human experience and the importance of being the best version of myself, but also supporting individuals to be their best selves. If you are looking for someone who truly cares and is committed to helping you achieve your goals, look no further. Let’s work together to help you reach your full potential.
